Breanne and Caleb had a romantic wedding over looking the Superstition Mountains at the Superstition Manor in Mesa. Breanne and Caleb met in college and the rest is history. They call Oregon home with their borador (part lab and part border collie pup). Breanne grew up in Arizona looking at the Superstition Mountains daily, so she knew that had to be the backdrop for their wedding. We met when I photographed her cousin’s wedding a few years ago, and was so excited when she contacted me about photographing her wedding! And even more excited when she told me it was at the Superstition Manor and they were having a Beer Burro!
They were both surrounded by the love and excitement of their friends while getting ready for the wedding. Breanne and Caleb chose not to see each other before the ceremony. Instead they wrote letters to each other to read before the ceremony. Breanne also surprised both Caleb and his mother with a pin and bracelet featuring a picture of his father who passed earlier this year. It was such a sweet way to carry him with them on Caleb’s wedding day. Once they were all ready, we took photos of the groomsmen and bridesmaids (separately, of course). Then it was time for the ceremony.
The ceremony was in a beautiful stone gazebo that framed the Superstition Mountains. The weather was a bit windy and dusty earlier that morning. But, it cleared up just in time for the ceremony so we had perfect views of the mountains. These two were all smiles during the ceremony. After the ring exchange, they braided a rope together forming a cross as their unity ceremony. Then with a kiss, they were husband and wife!
After the ceremony, we snuck away for a few pictures of the bride and groom. And we were joined by the Beer Burro! Her name was Corona and she was the cutest, especially when she was trying to eat Breanne’s bouquet. Breanne and Caleb grabbed some beers and had a toast, then it was time for the family portraits and pictures with the full bridal party. As the sun was creeping behind the manor, we explored the grounds with Breanne and Caleb getting some super cute pictures near the waterfall.
Then it was time for the reception. Caleb and Breanne had their first dance right after their grand entrance. During dinner, we left the reception for some sunset photos. We jumped in my Prius and drove just down the road to a trailhead in the desert. And it was so worth it! We captured some amazing dreamy desert sunset photos! (Not to mention, the desert is sooooo green right now!) We went back to the reception to finish dinner before toasts.
After toasts, were the parent dances. After the father-daughter dance, Breanne’s dad took a locket he gave to her when she was a little girl and handed it to Caleb. He explained that he gave the locket to Breanne as a symbol that she has the key to his heart. And that he gave the locket to Caleb because he now has Breanne’s heart. There was not a dry eye in the room. After the mother-son dance, it was time to get the party started. The photo booth and dance floor were opened and the party began.
The party only stopped for the late night snacks. There was something for everyone: a donut wall, a popcorn bar, and a french fry bar! Breanne & Caleb also played the newlywed game and did the bouquet and garter toss as part of the reception celebrations. Before our photography was done, we grabbed some sparklers and ran outside for a few quick photos.
Breanne & Caleb, you two are the sweetest! It was such a pleasure to be part of your wedding day. You two truly brighten each other’s lives and your love shines bright whenever you are together. I hope nothing for the best for you two!
