Christmas Time at Disneyland – Family Photography

I recently had the joy of taking pictures of some of my favorite people at one of my favorite places during my favorite time of year!  (As you may have gathered, I am really excited about this session!) My best friends wanted to take family pictures in the happiest place on earth, Disneyland.  I was pumped!  We coordinated our schedules, and decided December was the perfect time to go.  Double yay!  Christmas is my favorite time of year, especially in Disneyland!!!

Believe it or not, this is the first family photo shoot that Paul, Penny, and Cadence would have together.  Paul worked with bands touring the country a lot when Cadence was younger, so they weren’t able to coordinate a professional photo shoot with the whole family before this.  For this reason, Penny and I wanted to make sure we got absolutely fantastic pictures.  We spent the month prior to the session filling a Pinterest board with inspiration and locations within the park to take pictures.

The day finally came and we loaded up the SUV, picked up some In-N-Out, and headed on our way to California.  We planned on taking pictures the first day we were at Disneyland and enjoying the park on the second day.  But, when we woke up, it was pouring outside.  We decided to flip flop our plans and enjoy the park the first day and take pictures the next day.  We had a blast running around the park in our rain gear with our umbrellas.  The rain drove the crowds away which gave us the opportunity to go on all our favorite rides and do some location scouting!

The day finally came, again, and we headed off to the park camera gear in hand.  On our way, we could tell that the park was going to be crazy busy.  We weren’t going to let that stop us from getting great pictures!  We ran all over the park taking pictures everywhere we could.  Despite the crowds, we were lucky enough to find some locations where there was no one else in the pictures!  Funnily enough, my favorite pictures were taken on an extremely crowded Main Street.

I hope to have the opportunity to take pictures of more families at Disneyland!  If you are interested in taking pictures in Disneyland, feel free to Contact Me for more information.
