Yes, you read that right, Anniversary Piñata! I photographed Adrianna & Sean’s wedding almost a year ago, and as it is almost there one year anniversary, I thought this was a perfect time to share their unique guest book.
In place of a traditional guest book where everyone simply writes their names, Adrianna & Sean asked their guests to write them notes to stuff in this cute piñata that they would open on their first anniversary. The piñata hung from a stand and had a hole in the side for the notes to be stuffed. They had a sign explaining they would open the piñata on their one year anniversary. How fun!
If you are in love with this idea as much as I am, you can totally do this for your wedding! There are all different kinds of piñatas, you are sure to be able to find one that matches your wedding. You can go with a simple round piñata in colors that match your wedding colors or you can get a cactus piñata to match your desert themed wedding! With all the different sizes and options, you are sure to find something you love that fits your budget. Or, if it is more your style, you can always DIY your piñata. Just make sure to cut a hole for the notes!
You can make the Anniversary Piñata experience even more fun by adding extras into your piñata before you close it and store it for the year. Candies may not be that great a year later, but you could add things like confetti to make the opening a bit more exciting! Or if you drink, you could add the little mini bottles of alcohol (plastic ones if you plan on hitting the piñata to open it). Or maybe some bubble bath items (bath bomb, tea light candles) to finish off your Anniversary night.
Bonus: Depending on the size of the piñata and when you do your pictures on your wedding day, you may even be able to use them as a cute prop in your wedding photos!
