Mia and Chris were married at the historic Icehouse in Phoenix, Arizona. The Icehouse literally used to be where they stored the ice for Phoenix. Now, it is an open space that can be transformed into an amazing wedding space. Mia and Chris wanted a vintage rustic theme that reflected their love of Arizona. And they nailed it!
Mia and Chris met on Bumble! They bonded over their love of hiking and the outdoors. They love going on road trips together to Sedona and Flagstaff. When they are not adventuring together, they are cuddling up with their pups to watch superhero shows and true crime documentaries.
The Wedding Day
These two wanted their wedding to represent themselves and how they want to start their life as husband and wife. So, there were so many amazing personal touches on their wedding day. Chris’s wedding ring was made from a record, whiskey barrel, and guitar string! (Seriously, the coolest wedding band I have seen!) Chris and his brother both carried their father’s pocket watches. Mia had a necklace wrapped in her bouquet in memory of her father. And her mother blessed her before she walked down the aisle. At the reception, they had an ofrenda table in memory of the loved ones in their families who have passed.
Mia and Chris decided to keep it more traditional and wait to see each other until the ceremony. Instead, they exchanged cards and gifts before the ceremony. At the ceremony, Chris walked down the aisle with his mother and Mia walked down the aisle with her two brothers. The ceremony had everyone laughing and sharing tears of joy. They had their aunts share readings during the ceremony. The officiant shared the story of how they met and their relationship as well as advice for their marriage. After exchanging vows, rings, and a kiss, they were finally husband and wife!
The Reception
After the ceremony, we explored the downtown Phoenix area surrounding the Ice House. We got amazing photos in front of not only the historic venue, but other historic buildings in the area! We were having so much fun taking photos, that we could not believe it was already time for the reception. They started off the festivities with parent dances with their mothers and their first dance. Their family and friends shared heartfelt toasts and Chris’s brother had everyone cracking up during his toast. After cutting the cake, it was time to get the party started. The dance floor was packed all night! When it came time for the bouquet and garter toss, there was one more surprise. Chris and his fraternity brothers surprised Mia with a lavalier ceremony. They serenaded Mia with their fraternity song. Then Chris gifted her with a lavalier with his fraternity letters and a jacket with the fraternity letters. It was a great way to end my day with these two.
Mia and Chris, it was so amazing to be part of your wedding and adventuring together in Sedona! I know you two have a happy and loving marriage full of fun in front of you. I hope you two all the best in your new adventures in Colorado!
