Kelly and Steven are another one of my couples that have been in love for years! 8 to be specific, but they have known each other for much longer! Kelly has been best friends with Steven’s sister since they were girls. Kelly and Stevens relationship blossomed as they got older with her blessing. And now, they are getting married! They love spending time outdoors and camping (and going to concerts and movies. No wonder I loved working with them so much). They new immediately they wanted to do their engagement session at the Superstition Mountains, and who am I to deny a beautiful mountain backdrop?!
As we were walking along the trail (and maybe breaking a few of the rules to go off the trail and get the perfect shot, shhhh) we talked about our favorite places to camp. They had just gone camping at Apache Lake, which I camped on many times with my husband and his family when we were teenagers!
The sun was still pretty bright when we got there, so we snuck down into a ditch to grab some amazing intimate pictures. By then the sun started its decent towards the earth and had its brilliant yellow glow to illuminate Kelly & Steven. As the sun continued to set there was just enough clouds to provide us with some amazing desert silhouette images of the two of them. We found the largest saguaro cactus we could find and grab some pictures with it. I mean, you can’t have a desert engagement session is Arizona without a saguaro cactus.
We ended the session with more images with that beautiful mountain backdrop. Oh, and of course, my favorite little cotton ball plants that bloom in the spring here in the Arizona desert. (I really should look up the name of them some day.)
