Cassandra and Matt got married at the Superstition Manor in Mesa, Arizona. This is one of my favorite venues for their amazing views of the Superstition Mountains. Not to mention that the manor itself is gorgeous. The amazing iron manor doors, the stone walls, and gardens really take this venue a step above.
Cassandra and Matt met as so many love stories start, online. They bonded over their love of travel. Their favorite places to explore are Arizona’s small towns or, their tried and true favorite, San Diego. They just recently bought a house they absolutely love, so they are always hosting get together with their friends.
Cassandra chose to start the day with a first look with her dad. It was a super sweet moment (with all of her favorite ladies looking on from the next room). She gave her dad custom cufflinks from a drawing she did as a child with the words “I love you Dad”. Speaking of cufflinks, Cassandra also got Matt custom wood Mario Bros cufflinks! Matt got Cassandra a beautiful watch for her wedding present. Which was even more special than they originally thought. Cassandra carried her grandmother’s watch with her as her ‘something borrowed’. The watch was a gift from her grandfather and was inscribed on the back. Cassandra and Matt decided to inscribe her watch as a way to honor her grandparents.
Then we were off for Cassandra and Matt’s first look. These two were a cool as cucumbers the entire day. The only time they seemed to be a little nervous, was right before their first look. That did not last long at all. Once they saw each other, their faces beamed with excitement. We strolled around the grounds of the manor for their portraits until the bridal party joined us for pictures. After a few more pictures, the guests had started to arrive and it was almost time for the ceremony. During the ceremony Cassandra and Matt sealed letter they wrote to each other in a box to be opened on their first anniversary. With their rings and vows exchanged, it was time to make it official with their first kiss!
Before the reception, we jumped in my Prius to drive to a trail head down the road for some epic desert pictures. (It was literally like 30 seconds down the street, and so worth it!) After we explored the desert, we jumped back in the Prius for their grand entrance. Cassandra and Matt really thought about every detail for the reception. Their table names were based on different places they planned to travel to and the escort cards were postcards. They even included their cat by photoshopping him into the pictures of the different cities for the table names! Instead of a cake table, they had a table full of different cheesecakes. And for the kids, they had an entire table of toys, coloring books, and candy bars!
They started the reception with their first dance. After dinner, their family and friends gave toasts. Cassandra’s mom gave a Polish toast that included them sharing bread, wine, and salt and ended with her giving them a pence. They shared dances with their parents and then it was time to get the party started. The DJ invited the guest to participate in a scavenger hunt/musical chairs mashup that was a blast for everyone participating and watching. Then the dance floor opened and they danced the night away.
Cassandra & Matt, I hope you two get to visit ever single city on your wish list. And, even if Cat wont’ be with you, he will be there in spirit!
