Abby and Leo were married at Soho63 in Chandler this fall. They love all things modern and fell in love with the bright feel of SoHo63. Abby’s favorite part of the venue was the candle wall that was the backdrop of the ceremony. Their wedding was a modern romantic dream.
Abby and Leo met in college in Kansas! Leo came from Colombia to play tennis and Abby was going for nursing school. They finished college and moved to Arizona. And they have an adorable pitbull name Blue. She made an appearance at their engagement session and can be seen in the table numbers at the reception!
The Wedding Day
On their wedding day, Abby and Leo were all smiles. Seriously! Both of them were just so excited to be getting married. We started their day together with a first look. After which, Abby took Leo to check out the venue decorations. Then we went across the parking lot for their portraits together. Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding party to join us! We shared lots of laughs together, then it was ceremony time!
Both Abby and Leo were walked down the aisle by their parents. Their ceremony was officiated by Abby’s brother in law. Leo’s family is all from Colombia and speak Spanish. So, they had a translator for the ceremony and reception. When it was time for the vows, Abby surprised Leo by repeating her vows in Spanish. They then did a sand unity ceremony and sealed it all with a kiss!
The Reception
The reception was a party and the dance floor was packed all night! The night started with Abby’s father giving a blessing and sharing Challah bread with the guests. After dinner was the first dance and parent dances. Leo and his mother surprised everyone with a salsa dance! And Abby’s father surprised her with a special mix of songs and us all with a coordinated MC hammer dance. Then the dance floor opened up to the guests and was packed all night! The songs were a mix of American and Colombian hits. Abby and Leo cut their cake with the same cake knife from Abby’s parent’s wedding. Then it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. Abby surprised Leo with a garter in Colombian colors. Then it was dancing, photo booths, and more dancing until the sparkler exit!
Abby & Leo, I hope you two have a wonderful life together full of laughter, puppy kisses, and adventures to Colombia!
