It was such a pleasure to photograph Kara and Osman’s wedding at Schnepf Farms. These two are some of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Kara and Osman have been a couple for many years and built a strong community of friends and family around their relationship. Osman had many family members come from Mexico for the wedding including his grandparents. Kara’s brother officiated the wedding and one of Osman’s best friends translated the ceremony in Spanish. It was a really sweet way for everyone to enjoy the wedding.
If that wasn’t enough, their first look was by far the sweetest I have done. They shared a long tender embrace and many kisses; Osman did not want to let go of Kara. If you thought this first look would lessen the emotions they had walking down the aisle, you would be mistaken. I’m pretty positive everyone was crying as Kara walked down the aisle holding her father’s hand. I know there were tears in my eyes.
As if the two of them didn’t melt my heart enough, I got to photograph them at this amazing venue. This was my first time to Schenpf Farms. And let me say, this place is gorgeous! Kara and Osman’s wedding was at the Farmhouse. The lawn they got married on was quickly converted into the reception area for the night by the staff. If the farmhouse isn’t enough, the grounds around the farmhouse are amazing! Peach trees were blossoming and everything was so green and fresh for this Spring wedding. It was the perfect backdrop for their photos.
During the reception they did the traditional wedding reception activities: first dance, toasts, father/daughter & mother/son dances, cutting the cake, boutonniere/garter toss, etc. But they also did something I have never seen before. It is a tradition in Osman’s family, but I am not sure the name of it. They put an apron on Osman and gave him a broom. Then Kara chased him around with a belt smacking him on the butt! If that wasn’t funny enough, the younger guys grabbed Osman and tossed him in the air! Seriously though, it was a lot of fun to watch!
