Christie & Nelson were planning to get married in Hawaii in 2020. Then covid happened and they had to postpone their plans… multiple times… They decided to elope in the woods of their home state in Colorado, just the two of them. But, they still wanted to celebrate with their family before their big wedding in Hawaii (now almost two years away!). So, they put together and intimate backyard wedding at Christie’s parent’s house in Gilbert over their Christmas holiday. An intimate affair with a Boho/Moroccan feel.
After Christmas celebrations with their family, their wedding day finally came! Christie got to show Nelson her dream Boho wedding dress she had been keeping secret for so long. When it was time for the ceremony, Christie’s dad walked her, barefoot, down the aisle. They were joined by her pup walking down the aisle in such a sweet surprise! Christie and Nelson had an intimate ceremony officiated by Christie’s brother. While their families looks on in person and over zoom, they reaffirmed their love for each other with personal vows and a sand ceremony.
After the ceremony and pictures with the fam, we dove over to San Tan Regional Park. In college, Christie’s dad would take her there to help her with her college homework. They would collect and inspect rocks! Not only are the desert views there amazing, but it was amazing that we could include such a sentimental place for their portraits. We took photos until Arizona rewarded us with one of its iconic sunsets. Then we drove back to the house for them to continue celebrating with their family over an intimated dinner.
