I grew up down the street from Sahuaro Ranch Park. My school took many field trips to this historic park over the years. A picture of me planting the small field on one of these field trips ended up in the newspaper! In my teenage years, my husband and I spent many nights walking the track around the baseball fields and days wondering the historic area of the park.
Zach and Meagan wanted to include their son in their engagement shoot, so I knew this was the perfect place to go! So much variety in the backdrops of the pictures for me, and so many things to keep their son entertained! From the peacocks strutting their stuff to the new chicken coops.
It was spring time in the park, which means that everything is green and starting to bloom. The grapevines truly show the seasons at the park. They were vibrant green and thriving. I always love to start my journey in the park at these grapevines. They set the tone for me of the whole shoot.
We started off taking pictures with their son, then gave him a little break to play with Grandma. We found them a bit later and he promptly took my hand and brought me over to the chickens. He was absolutely mesmerized by the roosters and hens.
Zach is generally a quiet guy, but he lights up like a Christmas tree when he is with Maegan or their son. Maegan, on the other hand, is bubbly enough for the both of them. She seems to have a constant welcoming smile on her face. Their son is the perfect combination of the two of them. I cannot wait to see all of them again in September for Maegan and Zach’s wedding (at the Bellair golf course, near another place I grew up!).
