Ingrid and Scott were married this past weekend at the Riordan Mansion in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Riordan Mansion is a historic state park near the NAU campus. The rustic venue features gorgeous stone arches, log buildings, and amazing trees surrounding the mansion. The ceremony took place in the Veranda, the front yard of the mansion with a entry gate and beautiful garden.
Ingrid & Scott met online and quickly hit it off. Ingrid lived in Flagstaff and Scott in Utah, so Scott drove down to Flagstaff for their first date. After that, it was history. They knew they had met the person they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with. They spent their time traveling between Cedar City and Flagstaff to see each other. Ingrid & Scott would adventure around their cities together cracking jokes to make each other smile as much as possible.
They were married one year to the day of their engagement in Flagstaff. Scott and his family made the trip down for the wedding with his three legged dog, Southpaw. (Southpaw and I became instant friends.) The groom, groomsmen, and their parents wore Scottish kilts. Ingrid had a strip of her Scottish tartan wrapped in her bouquet. And there were gorgeous yellow sunflowers everywhere. The ceremony was officiated by Scott’s father. And the bridal party recessional was to the Avengers theme.
Once Ingrid put on her wedding dress, she was overcome with emotions. When it was time for the first look, she could barely hold back her emotions before seeing Scott for the first time on their wedding day. It was incredibly sweet. Once they did see each other, it was nothing but smiles and laughter for the rest of the day.
The reception was held at the Waterford Hotel in downtown Flagstaff. There were sunflowers everywhere, shots flowing, and the most delicious looking chocolate dipped strawberry cake. After dinner they did their toasts. The toasts were a great mix of emotion and laughter with a heckle or two from a passing by horse outside. After the toasts it was time for the first dance and then the cake cutting. Which consisted of cutting the cake and then eating the strawberries from the top. When it came time for the bouquet toss, Ingrid closed her eyes and spun in a few circles before tossing the bouquet in the wrong direction (at my second shooter Jenn!). With a quick re-do, the maid of honor caught the bouquet. After the garter toss, they danced the night away with their guests.
Ingrid & Scott – It was such an honor to photograph your wedding! I seriously had the most amazing time with the two of you and your friends and family. Continue to make each other laugh often and I know you will have a fun-filled marriage.
