Rachael & Alec’s wedding at the Rio Salado Audubon was absolutely amazing! These two met their first year of college at ASU. (So of course we did their engagement session in Tempe. See it here!) They started hanging out together with a small group of friends and quickly realized they especially loved spending time together. They officially started dating after their freshman year and have been inseparable since.
Being ASU graduates, they love spending time together watching ASU games! Especially football in the fall. When they are not spending time with family they love to get away for the weekend to Disneyland or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. They also love day trips to Prescott. (There is a reason I clicked with these two immediately!)
Their ceremony and reception were at the Rio Salado Audubon Center. This is an amazing location just south of downtown Phoenix that is one part desert preserve and one part amazing industrial architecture. If the beauty of the garden, desert trail, and lake were not enough, the inside reception area is covered in gorgeous images of the state of Arizona. This place is a dream venue for anyone who loves Arizona.
From the moment Rachael & Alec saw each other during their first look until the end of the night, they were full of smiles and laughs. There was no doubt how absolutely in love these two are! And the love that their families had for each other an their future daughter/son in-law was truly amazing. Rachael’s dad made the arch they were married under. Alec’s parents bought him a watch with a midnight blue band to match his tux and to remind him of his wedding day when he wore it in the future. And Rachael’s bouquet was wrapped with the gloves her mother wore at her wedding.
Their wedding day went off without a hitch. Everything ran on time. The flower girls were successfully bribed for pictures with gummy bears. The food was amazing. And, after a scare with a cold rainy day the night before, the weather was sunny and beautiful. It could not have been a more perfect day for this amazing couple to get married!
Rachael & Alec, I am so honored that I got to photograph your wedding for my 30th birthday! (And thank you so much for my egg-free brownie!!!) You two are absolutely amazing together and I know that you will have many, many years of Harry Potter marathons and trips in your future!
