I must been really excited for this engagement shoot, because I showed up a week early! I drove all the way out to Papago Park before I realized that the engagement shoot was scheduled for the next weekend. Well, that will teach me to double check my calendar. I wondered why my phone didn’t remind me to leave the house that morning…
It has been a while since I have had a session at Papago Park, so I used this opportunity to scope out some locations to take pictures at the next weekend. While I was strolling around the park, I ran into a road runner! Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera turned on, so I didn’t get a picture. 🙁 After my nice walk around the park, I grabbed some Dutch Bros and headed home.
Fast forward a week later, and it was time for the engagement shoot! We started the session near my favorite group of shade trees. (Seriously, if we shoot near the Hole in the Rock at Papago, you will have pictures at these tress!) We then strolled around the desert areas surrounding the Hole in the Rock finding some amazing saguaro cacti to take photos with.
The lake had the GREENEST plants ever. Like, the desert is never this green! So I could not say no to grabbing some pictures with that beautiful green in the background. We kept strolling around the lake areas and found a beautiful pine tree (another one of my weaknesses, large trees!) I absolutely had to put them in front of the tree and got some of my favorite images from the session.
On our way back to the cars I absolutely had to stop at my favorite, the Creosote Bush. I love this time of year because they look like little fuzzy cotton balls. We finally made it back to our cars, guzzled some water, and parted ways until their wedding in November at the Superstition Manor! Make sure to keep an eye out for that wedding!
