Chelsea and Ronan got married in the ever breathtaking superstition mountains at Lost Dutchman State Park. Their wedding was a celebration of their cultures (Navajo and Irish) and incorporated their love of Star Wars!
Chelsea and Ronan met while Chelsea was on holiday in Ireland. Ronan invited a group of people (including Chelsea) back to his house for an Irish meal of coddle. These two hit it off and they have been traveling back and forth between Ireland and Arizona ever since.
Chelsea and Ronan love traveling together, exploring the outdoors, and attending sporting matches and concerts. Their guest book embraced their love of travel. They had a huge map printed where guests put a heart sticker over their favorite place to travel. Then they had postcards the guests filled out with their favorite place to travel and their well wished for the couple.
On their wedding day, Chelsea and Ronan were on cloud nine. There was smiles on their faces literally the entire day. They were quick to make each other laugh and in great spirits from the beginning of the day through their light saber exit at the end of the night. Their families and guests were just as excited for their wedding as they were.
The Star Wars details were off the chart! The boutonnieres and bouquets included Lego Star Wars figures. The bride’s bouquet had R2D2 and the groom’s boutonniere had Yoda to match their cake topper. Their hand fasting chords had Star Wars charms. Ronan’s wedding vows included very clever references. They had a light saber duel to start their first dance. There was the most amazing Native American inspired designed Star Wars blanket to get married on. For cocktail hour they had themed snacks like “Light Sabers” (colored chocolate dipped pretzels) and “Jabba Jelly Bellies”. All of the signs were in Star Wars font featuring Star Wars quotes and characters. My favorite was the “Sit or Sit Not, There Are No Sides” sign at the ceremony.
During the ceremony they included traditions from both of their cultures. Chelsea gave Ronan’s mother a Navajo wedding basket crafted by Chelsea’s late grandmother as a symbol of the binding of their two families together. They also included a Celtic handfasting where their hands were tied together, literally “tying the knot”. For their wedding favors they gave Irish Wedding Bells and Juniper Sage. Their wedding cake featured a beautiful combination of native designs and Star Wars details. They ended the evening with dancing to Irish songs before their light saber grand exit.
Chelsea and Ro, it was such a pleasure to be part of your wedding. Never stop being goofy together and making each other laugh. I hope you two have an amazing life in Ireland and traveling the world. I will have to come visit you some time!
