I had the opportunity to meet Catherine at the Arizona Bridal show in January. I was so excited when she emailed me about doing engagement photos for her and Bryce! These two are insanely cute together. And bonus, not afraid of hiking into random washes with me! (Please check out their shoes for a great mix of sensible for exploring and amazingly cute for engagement pictures.)
They were looking for a desert backdrop for their engagement session and I could not resist heading back to Lost Dutchman State Park! It had been almost two years since I have done an engagement session here. I love the beauty of the Arizona desert. And adding two people crazy in love to the mix just makes my heart soar.
The sun was out in full affect that day. Which was great for keeping us warm! But a little bright for pictures, so we found some amazingly shaded washes along the trail. And we had to pop out to get a few pictures with the iconic superstition mountains. I also had to get some pictures with the jumping cactus. I just love the way the sun shines through them in the evenings. (And they don’t grow quite as big on the west side of town, so I had to take advantage of their majestic beauty.)
As we walked down the trail and in and out of washes, we talked about our favorite hiking spots and camping adventures. And about how it is always raining at the Rim when you try and go camping there! I ended the session with my new favorite thing. I had them each share one reason they love each other. They were all smiles and full of love! A great end to the day.
