Ashley and Klay got married at the L’auberge de Sedona. If this beautiful resort wasn’t beautiful enough with its log buildings, interior design that looks like Joanna Gaines herself designed it, and gorgeous greenery throughout the property, is nestled right next to the creek. Talk about an absolute dreamy place to get married.
Ashley and Klay met, as most modern day romances start, online. They bonded over a love for board games and traveling. When they are not re-watching Parks and Rec they are playing with their ‘perpetual puppy’ Jasper.
Their wedding was a truly intimate occasion with their closest family and friends. They honored the family members who could not be there in very special ways. Ashley wore a wedding dress that was inspired by her grandmother’s wedding dress. For her ear rings, she wore Klay’s grandmother’s set of pearls. And at the reception they had pictures of their loved ones displayed.
Ashley & Klay chose not to see each other in their outfits before the ceremony. When Ashley walked down the aisle, it looked like a true fairy tale. And Klay had a huge smile the entire ceremony. They chose to do a unity glass ceremony. Similar to a sand ceremony, they mixed together different colored pieces of glass that will later be blown into a plate they can use in their home together.
After the ceremony, we got a little adventurous and climbed onto some rocks that are in the middle of the creek. It was Ashley’s idea and I was 100% on board! After some photos together with the family, we continued exploring the property on our way up to the lookout. We got there just at sunset and were able to capture amazing pictures of the two of them and the beautiful red rocks of Sedona that I can picture hanging on the walls of their home.
It was then time for the reception. They had a beautiful (and delicious) coursed meal under cafe lights. In between courses, their friends and family shared heartfelt toasts with the couple. After dinner, Klay & Ashley shared their first dance. During the Father-Daughter dance, Ashley asked the other father & daughters to join in with them. Ashley and Klay spent the rest of the night slow dancing the night away with their guests.
Ashley and Klay, I wish you two all the happiness and delicious gluten-free treats! And have a wonderful time in New Zeland!
