Dolores and Mike were married in Dolores’s cousin’s backyard in Glendale. Dolores and Mike met years ago while working together. Mike was originally Dolores’s supervisor, so they were just friends. When she moved teams, they were free to start dating, and so they did! A few years into their relationship, Mike proposed to Dolores after coming home early from a trip to surprise her. During their long engagement (8 years), they both moved to the company I work for together, and that is how I met them! I worked closely with both of them at different times in my career, so when I found out they were setting a wedding date, I knew I had to be their photographer.
After that, many of our breaks and lunches were discussing all things wedding. We had a shared Pinterest board and everything! I was so excited about their wedding, that I offered to do the florals for the wedding. I mean, I used to work at a florist shop in high school, so why not?! The bouquets and boutonnieres were so dreamy, but I don’t think I will be doing flowers and photography for the same wedding again anytime soon.
After all of the planning and bouquet making, it was finally their wedding day! Dolores and Mike chose to do a First Look on their wedding day. So, I found my favorite tree on the property and set them up for their first look. After a few moments of alone time together, we took some portraits of just the two of them while exploring the property. For the bridesmaid and bridal party portraits, Dolores included her daughter (the flower girl/honorary bridesmaid). After having some fun with the bridal party, it was time for the ceremony.
Dolores and Mike were married by their long time friend, Larry. The ceremony was short, sweet, and complete with a few laughs. These two were absolutely beaming after the ceremony, so I had to sneak a few more pictures with them. Then, after some family pictures, these two were ready to get to the party! They mingled with guests and snuck into the photobooth while the tacos were prepared for dinner. After dinner, they had their first dance, toasts, cut the cake, and did a bouquet/garter toss. After some dancing, it was time to head out for the night.
Dolores & Mike, it was an honor to be part of your wedding day. You have been ride or die for each other for as long as I have known you. Your wedding just made everything official. I know you will have a fun future full of Vegas trips and other fun adventures! I am sure we will run into each other often at the grocery store or on Black Friday.
